Check the last degree they earned.
If it’s an MD, they’re probably still doctors.
If it’s an MBA, they’re a business person. One who’s been hired to use their MD as a smokescreen to manipulate your actions using the credibility of a peer.
MDs who earn their MBAs are common—beware.
MBAs who then earn their MD are vanishingly rare—and to be highly sought after.
There are individual exceptions of course, but thirty years of experience has validated this rule of them.
Given the costs of a formal degree, the last one earned is where the person’s heart truly lies.
